Advisory and Homeroom
Secondary School: Advisors
The Secondary Advisor has the key responsibility of providing pastoral care to students. They support the students academically and socially, are advocates for the students and deliver aspects of the personal and social education curriculum. Advisors are at the heart of communication between parents, teachers and students. Students attend Advisory each morning for attendance and twice a week where they participate in goal setting, reflection, journal writing, house competitions organised by the student council, assemblies, library visits, the development of approaches to learning (ATL) skills and engage in their personal and social education.
Primary School: Homeroom Teachers
Working closely with their teaching assistants, homeroom teachers in the Primary School deliver the Programme of Inquiry and stand-alone units which comprise the majority of our taught curriculum. Physical Education, Art, Music and an additional language (Language B) are taught by single subject teachers to all classes from Primary Preparation to Grade 5
Homeroom teachers have responsibility for providing pastoral care to the students in their classes and are the initial point of contact between parents and the school.
