Facilities

Vientiane International School's purpose-built campus is located in Saphanthong Tai Village, 2km from the city center of Vientiane. 

Facilities on the 5-hectare property include two full-sized basketball courts, two sporting fields, a fully catered cafeteria seating up to 200 people, a two-storey library media center with computer stations and study space, two computer labs, three science labs, performing arts and music practice rooms.The open spaces include early childhood and primary school playgrounds, and green areas which invite students and their families to use the school as the focus of the community. The school is designed to accommodate 550 students and offers the three International Baccalaureate programmes. Specialist classes for performing arts, physical education, visual arts and languages are part of the standard rooms across the school.

Our facilities are designed to provide a safe and secure learning environment, and with their open and green feel, create a place that is welcoming and supportive of our whole community.

VIS does not accept any liability for any injury incurred whilst on VIS property and whilst using VIS facilities, this includes activities during and outside of class time and also formally organized and informal activities. People participating in such activities are advised to have their own private health insurance.

In the event of an illness or serious injury, the Nurse or an office staff member will contact the parent or guardian. If needed, school will refer the student to the nearest medical facility for further emergency care. The Nurse or designated person will accompany the student to the hospital and meet the parent there. Costs associated with student injuries/accidents such as emergency treatment and transportation costs are the parents’ responsibility.
