Director’s Welcome

Sabaidee!  Welcome to the Vientiane International School website.

As Director of VIS, I am privileged to welcome families to our school from over 40 nations each day.  Our families bring a tremendous wealth of cultural diversity, but here we are all together for the same reason; to learn together.

I am proud to lead the Vientiane International School because it is a truly international place where quality outcomes are pursued.  As an International Baccalaureate World School, we provide a world class standard of education from our three year old programme through to the prestigious IB Diploma Programme.  Our students are taught by committed professional teachers and administrators from around the world.  Almost half of our teachers hold a Masters degree and many have been recognized by the International Baccalaureate as trainers.  This level of quality teaching inspires and challenges our students and prepares each learner for life.

As a not-for-profit school, ownership resides with our families.  Our parent-elected Board of Trustees ensures that the school is positioned for the future and that every cent of tuition fees goes into educating our students.  Our facilities are new and continue to expand as our school grows.  We have been providing education to the expatriate and Lao community of Vientiane since 1991 and are proud to be the only school in the Lao PDR accredited by the Council of International Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges.  These agencies provide you with a guarantee of educational and administrative quality at a world class standard.
