Accreditation

Vientiane International School is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Vientiane International School is the only school in Laos and is one of a small selection of international schools in Asia accredited by both CIS and WASC. Through the CIS/WASC accreditation programme school improvement is encouraged through a process of continuous self-study and peer-to-peer evaluation, a process which VIS is currently undergoing. Schools that have been awarded with full accredited status have demonstrated that they have achieved high standards of professional performance in international education and have a commitment to continuing improvement and best practices.

VIS is also accredited with the International Baccalaureate Organization for the Diploma Programme (DP), Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The IB programmes are available through 3,069 IB World Schools in 139 countries (www.ibo.org). The Diploma Programme is recognized by over 600 universities in 50 countries as a highly regarded entrance qualification. VIS prides itself on being able to offer its students a passport to higher education.
