In Secondary grades at VIS, students are assigned a Class Advisor. The aim of the Advisor- Advisee Program is to include each Secondary student in small interactive groups with peers and staff to discuss school, personal and societal concerns. It serves to develop a meaningful relationship between students and their parents with at least one educator at school, someone with whom they can talk about all aspects of the student's life at VIS - academic, social, and personal. Advisee groups meet on a regular basis to promote social, emotional and moral growth, self-confidence and leadership skills. Groups discuss subjects of interest such as peer pressure, substance abuse, school rules, health related issues, ethical concerns, friendships, etc.
