Visitors Procedures PDF Print E-mail

Visitors are always welcome at VIS. However, if you wish to see a particular staff member you should call ahead and make an appointment. For most of the school day, teachers are busy teaching and may not be readily available for visitors who arrive unannounced.

Students not enrolled in the school must have special permission to be on school grounds during school hours. Permission to bring a guest must be obtained from the school administration at least one day in advance. Relevant teachers must be notified and give approval in advance of classroom visits. VIS welcomes former VIS students, many of whom come back to visit. Former students should also telephone or email the school office to make arrangements to visit. Student guests may attend for one school day.

Secondary students may invite friends, 11 years old or above, to the school campus during Activity time. Staff members and parents may also invite family friends during Activity time. The inviting party must accompany his/her friends at all times. Visiting friends must sign the visitors’ book and follow VIS rules. The inviting party is responsible for his/her friends’ activities while on campus. When the inviting party leaves the school campus, his/her friends must also leave. Visitors are required to wear the VIS Visitor ID visibly at all times (except when actively participating in sport activities).
