OUR LIBRARY STAFF

The library staff consist of 2 assistants and one librarian.  The librarian's role in the school is to manage the library, purchase resources and teach students across all grades in collaboration with the class teacher.  A typical teaching day for the librarian could include teaching book care to a primary class, helping grade 3 use a online encyclopedia, recommending books to grade 5, teaching note taking skills to grade 8 and  showing grade 11 how to avoid plagiarism.

FOR PARENTS

Parents are welcome to borrow books during and after school until 4pm.  We encourage parents to come to the library and read to their children from our large picture book collection after school while waiting for other children who may be doing afterschool activities.   Our  young adults fiction section contains a number of  books that may be of interest to parents as well as our parenting section that contains books on topics include  parenting,  Third Culture Kids  and couple skills. The library purchases annual access to a number of encyclopedias and databases for student access at school and at home.  If you would like to learn how to use these to help your child with their school work please ask the librarian.
