Tuition fees and other charges are payable in US Dollars in cash, local bank check, or by direct deposit into the school's account. APPLICATION FEE A $1,000 payment must be made for each new student applying at VIS. The payment is non-refundable if the child is accepted and must be made when the application forms are submitted. ANNUAL CAPITAL FEE A $1,500 payment must be made for each student from Prep though Grade 12. The Annual Capital Fee for the 1st semester is payable by 1. August 2008 and for the 2nd semester by 15 January 2009. For students who enroll during the school year, the fee is payable within 2 weeks after enrollment date. For students leaving before the end of the 1st semester, $750 will be refunded. For students enrolling during the 2nd semester, $750 will be charged. As per the table below, there are five separate tuition levels: Pre-School 3 years (half-day program), Pre-School 4 years, Prep-Grade 5, Grade 6-8 and Grade 9-12. Students attending more than 60 school days in a semester are charged for the full semester. This concerns only tuition fees. A written refund request must be provided to the VIS administration. A $300 Administration Fee per student will be charged for any refund request. BUS FEES VIS provides a limited bus service in nearby areas of Vientiane. The cost of the bus service is $400 per semester (both pick-up in the morning and return in the afternoon), or $700 for the full-year single payment. This service is optional. Students using the bus service more than 30 school days in a semester are charged for the full semester. LUNCH FEES A caterer provides an a-la-carte menu for students with fees payable directly to the caterer. This service is optional. STUDY TRIPS Study Trips form an integral part of the school's curriculum and the participation fees are included into the 2nd semester tuition fees for Grade 6-12. English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Special Needs Fees: VIS is not charging any fees for these additional services.
