"Ms. Sophie" joined us from the United States in 2005 to teach one of our Grade 2 classes, and has "moved up" again. Her teaching certification is for multiple subjects in Elementary through Middle School; she taught lower Primary classes in the Los Angeles area for three years before coming to VIS. This past summer she enjoyed traveling in Nepal, Myanmar and Cambodia with family and friends. Ms. Sophie enjoys working in a community of learners and growing with them. When asked what she enjoys about teaching, she says, "I am inspired by students' inquiries and reflections as they interact with the world around them." Ms. Sophie's parents, brother and sister live in California. She enjoys riding her bike, reading and traveling to new places. She also enjoys the air conditioning in JOMA and the sales at Cama Crafts.
