 Science Teacher
CREDENTIALS Bachelor of Education University of Central Queensland, Australia Diploma of Teaching Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education, Australia Graduate Diploma of Science (Marine Biology) James Cook University, Australia Dobi is a Czech born Australian. Dobi has spent all her teaching career in various schools in Queensland and VIS is Dobi’s first international posting. She has been teaching for 16 years, ten years teaching all grades in the Primary school system and the last six years teaching Science in the Secondary system. In addition to her educational qualifications she holds a bronze medallion in surf lifesaving; she is a canoe instructor, assistant abseil instructor and holds numerous other first aid and watercraft certificates. Dobi has a great passion for life and outdoor pursuits which compliments her Science background and this is often reflected in her teaching. She believes that students learn best by doing and discussing, and as a result much of her teaching style is based on developing the enquiring mind. Dobi is a firm believer of hard work and setting high standards so one’s fullest potential can be reached.
