French Teacher CREDENTIALS Bachelor Degree English Literature Masters in Applied Phonetics Certificate in Teaching French as a Second Language Aix-en-Provence University, France Certificate in Anglo-Irish Literature Trinity College, Ireland. French Teaching Certificate Christian Sorand, a native French speaker, is new to VIS this year. He comes from the International School of Manila, Philippines (ISM), where he taught IB high school French for the last four years. He goes by the name of “Chris” or “Christian”, or Mr. Chris as the students already call him. Chris is a citizen of France, but he was born in Africa and traveled extensively in his youth before his parents finally settled in Arles, in Provence, France. Having taught, studied and lived overseas for most of his life, he thinks of himself more as a citizen of the World, as many international students already do! However, he calls Arles home. He graduated from the University of Aix-en-Provence and entered a teaching career before even finishing his studies. Chris taught in many different school systems. This is his 35th year of teaching. Prior to VIS and ISM, he taught at the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) and has also taught in Indonesia, France, Guinea, Algeria, Morocco, France and the USA!
