The VIS Diploma is globally recognized document showing completion of a high school level programme of study. This type of programme is based on the credit system, beginning in Grade 9. A passing grade of at least three (3) on a scale of one (1) to seven (7) in a course that meets on average of at least 150 minutes per week earns one credit. To receive this Diploma the student needs to accumulate a total of 24 credits.
This is a good alternative for those students who cannot meet the rigor and demand of the IB Diploma.
In all cases the students programme will be challenging and will give students a good chance at success.
Students studying for the VIS Diploma can choose to take as few as one course or as many as six courses for an IB Certificate. The advantage of doing this is that many Universities will use the results for advanced credit. Subject

ASSESSMENT VIS uses the 1-7 grading system used by the International Baccalaureate Organization, which is criterion based. Every teacher uses the subject specific criteria in order to assess student achievement, and therefore, every 11th and 12th grade student is subject to IB standards. The criterion enables students to understand the expectations of course and how to improve their level of achievement. The teacher has more latitude to differentiate instruction and assessments within the VIS Diploma curriculum. Often this allows the student flexible opportunities, beyond tests, to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.
VIS Diploma students will not be required to complete these IB specific requirements:
1. Write an Extended essay 2. Take at least 3 HL courses 3. Obtain a minimum score of 24 in their 6 subjects 4. Take the Theory of Knowledge course 5. Complete the Internal Assignments (up to 30% of the final grade of their final IB grade is determined by this external exam) 6. Complete Externally graded examinations (up to 70% of their final IB grade is determined by this external exam)
