GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE Vientiane International School is a private, non-profit international school owned by an association of parents with children enrolled at the school. An 8-member School Board governs the school. Members of the Board are elected at the association's Annual General Meeting in September. Board members serve two-year terms; four (4) members are elected in even years, and three (3) members are elected in odd years, to help maintain an experienced and knowledgeable board. It is the responsibility of the Board to establish school policy, hire a director, set fees and oversee the school's finances, and provide general operating parameters for the school. The administration is charged with the daily running of the school. At VIS, administration is comprised of a Director, a Primary School Head/PYP Coordinator, Secondary MYP and Diploma Coordinators, and a Business Manager. |
