Ms Phitsamai (Mai) Phoumivong PDF Print E-mail

 

ImageGrade 3 Teacher Assistant

 

Ms. Mai has worked at VIS since 2000. After receiving her B.A. in English from the National University of Laos and business diploma from European Asian Business Consultant College (EABC), Ms. Mai taught Grade 1 Lao and Grade 4 English at Progress High School, a private school here in Vientiane. Currently she is studying her M.A. in Teaching English as  a Foreign Language (TEFL) at the University of Laos.

 Mai was born and raised in Vientiane. She loves children. "Seeing smiles on the students' faces" is to her the best part about teaching. Ms. Mai likes playing all kinds of sports and making lots of friends.

 Mai coordinates Lao language integration into the Primary years curriculum. She teaches Lao to Non-Lao students as an afternoon activity, and is one of the language instructors who helps newly arrived teachers with Lao language skills.

Mr. Bounlerth enjoys assisting students in using the library at VIS. Now in his seventh year as Librarian Assistant, Mr. Bounlerth also worked for over a year at VIS as a Teacher Assistant. In his free time after work, he enjoys playing soccer, reading books, and watching TV to keep up with news of daily events.

 

He was born and raised here in Vientiane. He has a B.A. in Education from the National University of Laos. Presently, he is pursuing a M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the same university. Mr. Bounlerth and his wife, an accountant, have a nine year old son.

Mrs. Vanmany may not be a well-known face to some VIS families, as she spends most of her time in the staff room producing resource materials for classroom use. But she is one of our longest-term employees, having worked at VIS for over 12 years, including six years as the Grade 1 Classroom Teaching Assistant. Ms. Vanmany holds a B.A. in English from Dong Dok University. Her husband owns a construction company and they have one young daughter.

Mr. Thonglin (Lin) Reshocksay PDF Print E-mail

ImageInformation Technology Specialist

 

Mr. Lin is VIS' technology wiz. He spends his time running from computer to printer to server to keep VIS technology working. Mr. Lin has worked at VIS for six years. Before joining VIS, he worked in the technology field's private sector here in Vientiane.

Mr. Lin was born and raised in Vientiane. He has studied both computers and English locally. Mr. Lin operates a private business helping people set up their home computers and assisting them with technical problems. His wife runs her own photocopying and typing business. They have one son.
